The Department of Meteorology says that there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island today (08) after 1.00 pm.
The department stated that some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and Uva provinces and Galle and Kurunegala districts may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.
There may be some rain in the morning in the Eastern Province, while foggy conditions may prevail in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
