The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur from time to time in Western, Sabaragamuwa, South and North-Western provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today (07).
The department stated that some areas of Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.
Uva and Eastern Provinces and Polonnaruwa, Matale and Mullaitivu districts are also likely to experience scattered showers or thunderstorms during the evening or night.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
