The Department of Meteorology says that today (06) in many parts of the island, after 2.00 p.m., scattered rains or thundershowers may occur.
The department stated that some places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-West and North-Central provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.
Rain may fall in the northern and eastern provinces in the morning, and fog may dominate in certain areas of the western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva regions.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
