The Department of Meteorology says that there may be rain from time to time in Eastern, Uva and North Central provinces and in Hambantota and Mullaitivu districts.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur at places in the rest of the island during the evening or at night.
Some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of more than 50 mm, while coastal areas of Colombo, Kalutara and Galle districts may experience some rain in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
