Cyclone Michaung, which was in the west-central Bay of Bengal, has entered land from the coast of Andhra region in India and the system is gradually weakening, the Meteorological Department said.
The department mentioned that there may be occasional rain in the Western, Southern and North-Western provinces, especially in the morning.
In Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces after 2.00 PM there may be scattered rain or thundershowers and foggy conditions may prevail in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
