The Department of Meteorology says that a change is expected in the current dry weather condition.
The department stated that there may be rain from time to time in Eastern and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa and Matale districts.
In some places in these areas, mm. Heavy rains may occur around 50 degrees and there may be some rains in the northern province and Anuradhapura district.
It is said that there will be rain or thundershowers in a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
