The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur from time to time in Western, Sabaragamuwa, South, Central and North-West provinces today (04).
The department stated that some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle, Matara and Nuwara Eliya districts may experience heavy rain of more than 50 mm.
In the western slopes of the Central Highlands, in the Western, North-Western, Northern and North-Central Provinces, occasional gusty winds of 40 to 45 km/h may occur.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
