Today (05) is the Bak full moon poya day. Lord Buddha’s second visit to Sri Lanka took place on this full moon day. It is said in history that he visited Nagadeepa to settle a conflict between Chulodara and Mahodara Naraj.
Also, Prince Sidhuhath saw an old man who was the first of the four omens on the Bak full moon day.
On the occasion of Poya day, many “Amisa and prathipaththi” poojas have been held in the island’s Vehera and temples since this morning.
