In a raid near the State Engineering Corporation on the Negombo road in Peliyagoda, the Peliyagoda Police detained three people and seized cocaine, kush, and hash substances valued more than Rs. 300 million. They had tried to use Rs. 3 million in bribes to persuade the police to release them.
The police also seized a three-wheeler, a jeep, a pound of kush, twenty-four kilograms of hashish, and one kilogram of cocaine.
The Peliyagoda Police officers on the night mobile patrol conducted the raid. Police conducted additional investigations at the scene and discovered three cardboard boxes and four bags in the three-wheeler after watching numerous persons transferring various products into the vehicle from the three-wheeler.
These substances, according to the police, were kept in bags and cardboard boxes.
The accused had attempted to bribe the police with a payment of Rs. 3 million in exchange for their release.
The individuals who have been detained include Nattandiya and Wattala residents, ranging in age from 33 to 49.
