Things to consider while buying a laptop

At one time in Sri Lanka, even a laptop or a desktop computer was a super product that was not seen every day. The prices were very high and there were not many models even when we went to buy them. But with the passage of time, it has become a common thing for many people who work and study to have a laptop. Also, laptops today are thousands of times more advanced than they were back then. Available in the market in many varieties. For this reason, the most common question we get from people who take a laptop today is, “What is the best lap?” There is only one answer to that. A laptop is a solution. The solution depends on your problem. Therefore, rather than classifying it as the best lap, it is better to decide on the reason for purchasing a good or bad lap, based on your budget. So, we have prepared a guide for your convenience.

  • Why are you really trying to get a lap?

Before going to a showroom and thinking, make a small list of your own reasons why you are going to buy a lap at home. Maybe one for web surfing. Or maybe make a presentation with PowerPoint. Must have typed letters in Word. Or watch HD Films, video editing or photo editing.

In general, there is no need to waste money to buy a “powerhouse” type laptop, which is very serious for internet surfing and office work. You can do the said work with the things on a normal laptop. But for heavy usages like that, that is for things like video editing and graphic designing, or if you play games, you will have to spend a few more rupees to get one with this, good performance.

Analyzing the reason for buying a laptop is a good start. This will prevent you from wasting your money, and anyone in the shop can help you choose the best lap.

  • Battery Life

The main reason to take a lap is to take this everywhere. So if we talk about portability, we must talk about laptop battery life. But if you use the laptop most of the time and keep it on the table at home or on the office table, most of the time you can plug the laptop into the charger and use it. Otherwise, if you use the laptop outside or on long trips, a bigger battery backup is needed. Consider taking an existing lap. Some manufacturers give extra battery packs for free. If you don’t get it, you will have to make a separate purchase to go on a trip without fear.

  • Physical Look

Here we are talking about the screen size, weight and slimness of the laptop. Also, you have to think about the shape of the lap. You know you get bored when you go to lift a lot of heavy laps. Also, don’t forget to think twice about the colour and screen size. The quality of the screen is the resolution. Also, take a good look at how the sound disk drives and USB ports are installed. In other words, look for additional facilities offered by the manufacturer (E.g. USB3, Fingerprint reader, Rotatable lids).

  • Inside

If you don’t have a big idea in this regard, take the help of a friend who knows well about this or the salesperson of the shop you go to. Tell them exactly the purpose of taking the lap. Then they will list the minimum options you need to do what you want. Remember to do this keeping in mind the budget you want to invest.

  • Brand and other tech-related things

Some laptop brands give special services and free software with their product when buying the laptop. For e.g. Windows and Office Packages. Most of the time, laptop manufacturers send the laptop bag in the same package. The most important thing is the warranty period and related conditions. Some warranties are not only accepted in Sri Lanka but internationally. Also, do a little background search about this manufacturer. You can easily get an idea by reading previous user reviews. You can find many laptop review websites if you google them. Or you can use things like social media groups and Yahoo Answers to ask people what happens when you use this manufacturer’s product and how their service is. Then those who have used it before will tell you that your decision is right, or give you new ideas. Remember that you are very powerful as a consumer today. There are many ways and methods to find information before buying something. Know how to use those things.

If so, don’t forget to post your thoughts in the comment section while sharing this article.
