Janaka Ratnayake, chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, says that although it was previously expected to carry out a long power cut in October due to the lack of coal, there is no such need now.
He points out that there will be no need for extended power cuts until January next year.
The chairman added that the generators that had broken down at the Lakwijaya power plant in Norochchole will be restored and will be able to be added to the national system around Monday (03).
