The Central Environment Authority says that the gazette notification issued banning single-use and short-term plastics will be effective from today (1). A senior official of the authority also said that about 9 types of plastic are included in this ban.
He said that the main purpose of this is to prevent the huge environmental pollution caused by plastic and reduce the environmental problems.
