The President’s Policy Statement is the topic of today’s debate

Beginning today, the House will hold a three-day adjournment debate on the President’s policy statement (09). During the ceremonial opening of the third session of the ninth parliament last Wednesday (03), President Ranil Wickremesinghe delivered his policy statement. The discussion will go on through Wednesday (10) and Friday (12).

Lakshman Kiriella, the chief organizer of the opposition, will propose the adjournment debate. At the Party Leaders’ Meeting, the Opposition asked for a discussion of the Policy Statement. The House Speaker gave it some thought.
