President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that the public representatives should fulfill their responsibilities in the same way that the security forces including the army protected the parliament.
The President stated this while addressing the President’s Certificate of Commendation Ceremony held today (09) at the Army Headquarters in Akuregoda.
On July 13, a program was organized to honor the war heroes who defended the Parliament complex by suppressing the protest launched by the militants to seize the Parliament complex.
The President further stated that even if difficult times come, Parliament can do it if it wants to recover from it and create stability by the end of next year.
