The Court of Appeal today ordered that the petition filed against the decision taken by the former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe to appoint an interim control committee for the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute to be called again on the 13th of this month.
At the time this petition was called today, the lawyer who appeared for the new Sports Minister, Harin Fernando, presented the facts before the court and informed that he needed time to inform his client’s position regarding the relevant gazette announcement.
Accordingly, the case was adjourned until December 13. The new Sports Minister Harin Fernando gave a pledge to the court that no further action would be taken concerning the gazette announcement issued by the former Sports Minister until that day.
