The ‘National Physical Planning Policy Draft – 2048’ was presented to President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the President’s Office. Urban Development and Housing Minister Prasanna Ranatunga presented the draft to the President.
The National Physical Planning Department has prepared the ‘National Physical Planning Policy Draft – 2048’ by including various projects and programs implemented in all ministries, departments and other related institutions.
It was then recommended by the inter-ministerial secretaries’ committee and submitted to the National Physical Planning Council (NPPC) presided over by the President for approval.
Ministers of the ministries that are members of the National Physical Planning Council, Provincial Governors, President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake, President’s Senior Adviser on Economic Affairs Dr RHS Samarathunga, and the secretaries of the ministries representing the National Physical Planning Council and heads of line agencies attended the event.
