The Sri Lanka Bar Association says that the Sri Lanka Bar Association is disturbed by the seizure of the Prime Minister’s office on Flower Road by a group of protesters.
The Sri Lanka Bar Association has emphasized that the premises should be returned to the authorities immediately, and that the Sri Lanka Bar Association will continue to uphold the rights of peaceful protests but will not support an unconstitutional state of lawlessness or anarchy.
The Sri Lanka Bar Association points out that trying to occupy and destroy government offices or damage property is not a peaceful protest.
At this time, the Sri Lanka Bar Association requests the people to remain calm and give space for the peaceful transfer of power promised by the political leaders of this country.
