Displeasure has been expressed in the Committee on Government Finance that the senior officers of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission did not participate in the Committee on Government Finance and did not formally inform the Committee about it.
It is stated that this was emphasized when the Committee on Government Finance met recently under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament Dr Harsha De Silva.
The Parliamentary Communications Department further states in a statement that the committee has ordered the commission officials to ensure the prompt submission of the annual audit reports.
Dr Harsha De Silva, Chairman of the Government’s Finance Committee, has mentioned that a sub-committee was also established to supervise the preparation of a regulatory program for the casino business.
