State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that the consumption of alcohol in this country has decreased by 20%-30%.
The Minister mentioned this while attending the inspection of the Excise Department today (27).
The minister mentioned that factors such as the current economic crisis and rising food inflation have affected it.
The minister further mentioned that despite the difficult situation, the excise department has found about 65% of the excise revenue.
