For the disruptive behavior and interference with police officers’ duties at gas stations in various locations on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10 additional people were detained by the police.
As a result, police arrested two suspects on Sunday in addition to the one suspect they detained in Mankulam on Friday. On Saturday, police arrested seven individuals in Bandaragama, Attanagalla, Galgamuwa, Trincomalee, and Tangalle.
Charges against them include disorderly conduct, criminal coercion, interfering with police officers’ performance of their duties, and making threats and attempts to injure police officers and filling station personnel while intoxicated.
The police will initiate legal proceedings against these individuals, according to police attorney-at-law and police media spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa.
