The annual Taliban peace conference started in Norway, and a delegation of the Taliban government arrived in Oslo, Norway, to participate in the conference, according to a statement released by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The establishment of a Taliban government in Afghanistan took place in 2021, after the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan. The Taliban government has implemented their own Sharia law. Accordingly, girls’ education is prohibited. Women are not allowed to work.
It is also said that the Norwegian conference will focus on the injustices faced by Afghan girls and women. Representatives of Western countries including the United States will also participate in the Taliban conference. (Reuters)
