By now, the activities of the Parliament have started and accordingly the process of accepting the nominations has started.
Accordingly, the opposition leader proposed the name of Dallas Alahapperuma as the first nomination and it was confirmed by the president of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna GL Peiris.
Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe was proposed by House leader Dinesh Gunawardena as the second nomination, which was seconded by Manusha Nanayakkara.
As the third nomination, Vijitha Herath of Janatha Vimukti Peramuna proposed its leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake and it was confirmed by its Member of Parliament Harini Amaratunga.
Accordingly, Ranil Wickramasinghe, Dallas Alahapperuma and Anura Kumara Dissanayake will compete for the presidency tomorrow.
