Yesterday (02) the Sri Lankan team managed to qualify for the 2023 World Cup One-Day Cricket Tournament. Accordingly, Sri Lanka became the 9th country to qualify for the 2023 World Cup One Day Cricket Tournament.

Sri Lanka also managed to qualify for the final match of the World Cup qualifying round by securing one of the first two places in the points table of the Super 6 round after winning the match against the Zimbabwe team yesterday.

Chasing a target of 166 runs to win against the Zimbabwean team, the Sri Lankan team scored 169 runs for the loss of one wicket in 33.1 overs to secure their victory. Pathum Nissanka 101 not out, Dimuth Karunaratne 30, Kusal Mendis 25 not out. Accordingly, the Sri Lankan team won by 09 wickets.
