Under the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ programme, over 12,500 troops extended their assistance to support the nationwide initiative to renovate 1,000 selected schools. As a result of their efforts, the renovation of 380 schools were successfully completed from 20 February 2025 to 07 March 2025.
The troops undertook the renovation of nearly 140 school buildings that had deteriorated over time, carrying out roof repairs, painting, and general refurbishment. Additionally, they restored damaged boundary fences within school premises. Furthermore, approximately 3,100 unusable desks and chairs were repaired and made suitable for reuse.
This project continues to be implemented, with ongoing contributions from school teachers, students, parents, and the wider civil community, who have consistently supported the Sri Lanka Army.
