Former Sabaragamuwa Provincial Councilor Hasitha Samantha Muhadiram alias “sarpaya” has been acquitted and released on charges of double murder.
The verdict was handed down when the case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe.
He was charged with shooting dead former Sabaragamuwa Provincial Councilor Ranjith Nandasena and his bodyguard in 1999 in Kalawana and setting them on fire in a vehicle.
