A volcanic eruption occurred in Iceland. Lava from the explosion flowed into the small town, and many houses were completely destroyed. Icelandic authorities said that all of the city’s infrastructure was also destroyed.
Iceland is an island nation full of volcanoes. Iceland, with a population of 3,76,000, is located in the North Atlantic Ocean at the border of North America and Europe.
The lava destroyed the small fishing town of Grindavík 70 kilometres from the capital, Reykjavík. Lava began to emerge from volcanic vents near the city last November. Accordingly, since then, the authorities have taken steps to evacuate people from the town of Grindavík. Hence, there were no casualties.
