Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya and the leader of the opposition, says that he will compete for the vacant post of executive president.
The opposition leader said in a Twitter message that he believes that Satya will win even if the majority of the 225 members of parliament is on the side of the former president.
