Development officials have decided to withdraw from the system of checking the National Fuel License Code (QR) at petrol stations.
The Association of Development Service Officers states that this step was taken in protest against the lack of attention given to the Ministry of Power and Energy regarding the problems arising in the execution of this work and their resolution.
On the basis of a circular sent by the Ministry of Energy to the district and divisional secretaries, development officers have been deployed for the method of checking the fuel codes of the filling stations.
The association further mentions that although it is not relevant for its officials to professionally intervene for the fuel station affairs, they are intervening on the basis of providing support to avoid the inconvenience that the people are facing.
