The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has chosen to prioritize fueling stations that use the QR system while dispensing fuel.
At a meeting with representatives of the CEYPETCO Fuel Station Dealers’ Association on Thursday, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera made this choice. Only filling stations that utilize the National Fuel Pass’s QR system will get fuel, it has been decided.
When implementing the QR system, consideration was given to the practical issues raised by the Fuel Station Dealers’ Association, and the appropriate actions were made to address them as quickly as feasible. The future integration of fuel-using machines with the QR system received consideration as well. For machinery that cannot be classified as a vehicle class, such as generators, lawn mowers, and chainsaws, a separate QR code will be provided under this.
