In a series of questions asked by the BBC after the July 9th unrest in the country, Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena was questioned on the whereabouts of the president.
In the question which were asked regardingthe whereabout of the president Speaker said that “At rhe moment he is somewhere outside… in a near by country.”
when questioned about the arrival of the president he said that he will come back to the country on wednesday (13th) to hand over his resignation.
In questions to the current position of Sri Lanka in its Economical state,Speaker finger points toward the epidemicwhich made the country to downfall and made the country bankrupt by the expenses of vaccines and other incidetial expenses. He denied the fact which the opposition was blaming the current govenment for its expenditure in the infrastucture , He said “…….but Infrastructure facilities like highways and all that,those are paying well for the country”.
