The Panadura North Police has arrested Murawatta Chandana, who is a main disciple involved in a powerful drug trade operating in the Panadura area. It is near Panadura Horetuduwa bridge.
The suspect was arrested with 16 grams of heroin which he brought to give to another person.
The police have uncovered information that the suspect has carried out the smuggling very secretly by getting information through WhatsApp to many areas including Panadura North, Moratuwa, Horetuduwa, and Modara.
The police said that the suspect had previously been prosecuted for heroin trafficking. The Panadura Magistrate’s Court ordered that the suspect be remanded until the first of next month after being presented to the Panadura Magistrate’s Court. (Neth News)
