Foreign media say Pakistan has once again asked for a loan from China. Pakistan is facing a severe economic crisis. It was because of taking loans from China and failing to repay them.
By September 2023, the amount of debt that Pakistan had to pay exceeded 128 billion US dollars. Foreign media have said that the prime minister of Pakistan’s caretaker government, Anwarul Haq Kar, has requested $2 billion in financial assistance from China for one year.
It is also said that the caretaker prime minister has asked Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to reverse the loan as soon as the deposit period from China expires on March 23, 2024. (NDTV)
