The Professionals’ Trade Union Collective says that in the discussion held yesterday (25) with the President, no solution was found as expected.
Dr Haritha Aluthage, Secretary of the Government Medical Officers’ Association, said that the general opinion about the tax amendment was expressed to the President during the discussion, but the discussion did not receive a positive response to abandon the series of protests that will begin after March 01, and as a result, the protests will continue.
However, he added that he hopes to continue this discussion and will not give up the fight until the tax amendment is brought to a level that professionals can bear.
