Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny’s wife, Yulia Navalnaya, says that Russian President Vladimir Putin killed her husband Alexei Navalny and that although Navalny is dead, she is not ready to give up the fight he started for a ‘free Russia’.
Navalny’s wife said in a nine-minute video. The video became public yesterday (19) through the media. ‘Three days ago Vladimir Putin killed my husband Alexei Navalny. A part of me died with that. Part of my heart, part of my soul is dead. I will not give up the fight for my husband. My husband’s fight for a Russia free from corruption and fraud continues with me. I am fighting for my country, for our country. I believe that all of you will join me in the fight to build a free Russia,’ said Yulia, addressing the Russians with her eyes full of mountains. Yulia, 47 years old, is an economic expert.
Not only a professional lawyer but later a social activist, Navalny incurred the wrath of Russian President Vladimir Putin after exposing Putin’s corruption scandals. After being convicted of treason, Russian authorities sent Navalny to a prison in the frigid Arctic region of Russia’s Siberia. Last Friday (16), Nevalni died suddenly while in that prison. It is also said that Navalny’s body has not yet been handed over to his mother or family.
