The Attorney General has raised preliminary objections before the Supreme Court to dismiss the basic human rights petition filed by MP M. A. Sumanthiran.

The petition has been filed asking for a ruling that the Act on the Security of Online Systems has not been duly passed in the Parliament.

The petition was called before the three-member Supreme Court bench consisting of Mr Priyantha Jayawardena, Mr Shiran Gunaratne and Mr Achala Vengappuli. (Esena)
