The revised fee system for issuing National Identity Cards will be implemented from today (01).
Accordingly, it is stated that a fee of 200 rupees will be charged for providing a national identity card for the first time, and an amount of 2,000 rupees will be charged for issuing a national identity card through the one-day service.
The Department of Registration of Persons also mentioned that the fee charged for issuing a duplicate of a lost national identity card has been increased to 1,000 rupees.
It is also stated that 500 rupees will be charged to obtain a revised copy and 200 rupees as the fee for issuing a new national identity card instead of an expired national identity card.
