Four North Central Regional Directors who were on duty at the same place regardless of the transfer, have been sent on compulsory leave despite being transferred due to service requirements.
Four regional directors who worked in Anuradhapura, Kekirawa, Polonnaruwa and Higurakgoda regions have been sent on compulsory leave.
This compulsory leave has been sent in the presence of Mrs. Abhaya Lakshmi Hewapathirana, Secretary of the North Central Province Chief Ministries and Ministry of Education.
A senior official of the Provincial Ministry of Education said in the inquiry that this was because they were forced to stay at the same place where they worked for more than five years even after fourteen (14) days had passed.
Zonal directors sent on compulsory leave refused to comment to the media. A charge sheet is also to be given to them in the future.
The provincial education department has temporarily appointed four senior officers of the education administration service to replace the four vacant regional directors due to compulsory leave.
