The Bribery Commission arrested the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Batticaloa Depot Manager on Thursday night as he was asking for a bribe (28).
To get the gasoline quota, he had demanded a payment of Rs. 75,000 from a person.
He had also asked for the bribe from other people. One of these individuals had provided the Commission with a tip, and the authorities from the Commission were able to apprehend the suspect as he was asking for the money.
The perpetrator will be brought before the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court, according to the Bribery Commission.
