K.H. Wegapitiya, Chairman of Laugfs Gas, stated that the business has been able to open the appropriate Letters of Credit (LOC) and mentioned that it would begin supplying gas to the local market over the next six days.As a result, Laugfs Gas will be able to reintroduce gas to the local market, he added.
Due to the LOC concerns, the supplier had to halt the distribution of LPG and now, as it is on track, they will be in the market with the gas scarcity going on.
Meanwhile, Litro Gas Lanka reports that a cargo of 3500 MT of gas scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today would be delayed by two days.According to the ship’s major gas provider, because the ship needed fuel and Sri Lanka was unable to deliver it, the ship travelled to India.As a result, the distribution of gas would be delayed by another two days, according to Litro Gas Lanka.
Also Litro Gas Company has requested general public to not to stand in line as there won’t be any gas supplied untill informed.
