Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the political wing of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, is in Cairo, Egypt, to hold talks with representatives of the Israeli government, willing to once again start a ceasefire with Israel.

Before the meeting with Israeli government representatives, a meeting was held between Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Egyptian intelligence chiefs. Egypt is the mediator in the Israeli-Hamas crisis.
