After breaching Baghdad’s high-security Green Zone in protest over a rival bloc’s choice for prime minister, hundreds of followers of influential Iraqi cleric Moqtada Sadr danced and chanted in parliament on Wednesday.
In an effort to prevent the demonstrators from breaking through the strongly protected Green Zone’s gates, police fired barrages of tear gas, but the masses surged ahead and entered parliament.
