“If you are going to protest, do it peacefully” – US Ambassador

Julie Chung, the American ambassador to Sri Lanka, says that if protests are held, it should be done peacefully.

She notes that violence is not the answer and reminds the military and police to give space and security to peaceful protesters to protest.

The Twitter message issued by the American Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung, further states that the confusion will not bring the economic fix or political stability that Sri Lankans need at the moment.
