Dr Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, says that all creditors have expressed their willingness to support Sri Lanka in the discussions held alongside the debt restructuring process.
He mentioned this while addressing the seminars on the economy of Sri Lanka organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Policy Studies.
He pointed out that every creditor has clearly stated that they do not expect to see a crisis in the banking system in Sri Lanka and that there should be a strong banking system in Sri Lanka in order for creditors to recover their debts in the future.
Also, the central bank governor further emphasized that economic recovery depends on how successfully the authorities implement the reforms that have been identified as important.
