Hayleys Fentons Limited has announced a landmark achievement in its sustainability journey
with the successful calculation and third-party verification of its Greenhouse Gas (GHG)
emissions statement, certified by the Sri Lanka Climate Fund.

The certification was formally presented by Mr B.K. Prabath Chandrakeerthi, Chairman of
the Sri Lanka Climate Fund, alongside the Secretary of the Ministry of Environment.
The GHG emissions assessment adhered to globally recognised standards, encompassing
emissions across all relevant operations. By systematically tracking, measuring, and
reporting GHG emissions, Hayleys Fentons Limited is well-positioned to comply with
regulatory requirements, mitigate climate-related risks, and boost investor confidence.
Embedding ESG principles into operations will support value chains across Hayleys Fentons
business units to actively contribute to environmental sustainability, uplift communities, and
create long-term value for stakeholders.

Managing Director Hasith Prematillake expressed pride in this achievement, stating, “This
milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to driving meaningful change and shaping a
future where business success aligns seamlessly with environmental stewardship and social
responsibility, embodying the aspirations set forth in the Hayleys Lifecode. Every journey
towards a better tomorrow begins with understanding where we stand today, and this step
forward inspires us to create an even greater impact.”

Director/CFO Pamudith Gunawardana stated, “By investing in renewable energy and
implementing energy efficiency practices, we are not only minimising our carbon footprint
but also positioning Hayleys Fentons for long-term resilience. This verified data will allow us
to better assess our financial risks and opportunities related to climate change, ensuring that
our sustainability efforts are fully integrated into our business model.”

AGM Compliance and ESG, Nisal Liyanage, emphasised the importance of the GHG emissions
verification as a pivotal step towards a net-zero future. “We take pride in this achievement,
having successfully documented emissions while capturing over 71% of sources from all six
GHG emission categories. This initiative reinforces our environmental stewardship and
ensures compliance with evolving stakeholder expectations,” he stated.

This accomplishment reiterates Hayleys Fentons unwavering dedication to sustainability and
its comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, which is deeply
embedded in its management systems and operations. Building on a legacy of over 100
years, Hayleys Fentons continues to evolve, aligning with modern sustainability standards to
create long-term value for stakeholders, address critical environmental challenges, and
solidify its position as a sustainability leader in Sri Lanka and beyond.
