Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, the President of Sri Lanka, who is curently in the Maldives is expected to leave to Singapore on Wednesday evening, July 13.
Sources in Maldives, speaking to New Cutter exclusively said that Gotabaya is set to depart from Velana International Airport to Singapore this evening after confirming asylum at Singapore and that his departure will be through flight no SQ437.
Sources also said that the President is currently at the Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi Resort in Maldives.
In the meantime, the Maldives’ Foreign Ministry and the president’s office refused to comment on embattled Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s arrival in the country. The parliament in the Maldives has denied knowledge on the matter.
In the meantime, Maldivians have planned on holding a protest at 3:30 PM at the Presidential jetty in Male today.(Newscutter)
