The Cabinet has approved the immediate provision of 100 million US dollars to the Ministry of Health for the purchase of essential medicines.
It is said that a proposal presented by the Minister of Health has been approved by the Cabinet.
The funds of 100 million US dollars provided by the Colombo Urban Revitalization Project and the Disaster Mitigation Project, which are operated under the funds of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, are to be used to import essential medicines.
