French President Emmanuel Macron has said that he will withdraw his ambassador and military personnel from Niger, which is under military control.

Niger is a West African country. In the past, it was a French colony. The official language of Niger is French. Niger State gained independence from France in 1958. Last July, Niger’s army seized power in the country. It was also claimed that they had the support of Russia.

The military commanders said in unison that the American and French troops in Niger should leave. American and French troops remained in Niger to fight ISIS in Africa. To provide military support against terrorists and other Islamic terrorists.

Since the military coup, the French ambassador and French diplomats in Niger have refused to leave the country. The Niger Army accordingly proceeded to place them under house arrest.

However, now French President Macron has decided to bring the ambassador and diplomats as well as the French army soldiers back to France. (Reuters)
