This year, Finland won the title of the happiest country in the world for the seventh time in a row. Finland took the crown, topping the world’s happiest and livable countries for 2024.
The selection of the happiest countries in the world takes place every year. That is through the intervention of the United Nations. This time, polls were conducted involving 143 countries and the list of the happiest countries was prepared. The happiest country in the world is selected based on factors such as gross domestic product, life expectancy, freedom to make life decisions, generosity, level of corruption in the public sector and social cohesion.
Finland is considered among the countries of the Nordic region. Other Nordic countries Denmark, Iceland and Sweden are among the happiest countries in the world after Finland respectively.
The last place in the list of the happiest countries in the world, i.e. 143rd, is Afghanistan, which has fallen back into the hands of the Taliban after the departure of American troops in 2021. According to this list, Great Britain is at 20th place and America at 23rd place. (AFP)
