The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has informed that all taxpayers must make their final income tax payments for the Year of Assessment 2023/2024 by today (Sept 30).
Issuing a notice to taxpayers, it warned failure to meet this deadline may result in penalties and interest charges. The penalties and interest imposed for non-payment or late payment of income tax will not be waived or reduced, the department said.
In addition, the IRD reminds taxpayers to clear all outstanding default taxes on or before October 30, 2024. After that date, any unpaid default taxes will be subject to rigorous collection actions, including legal proceedings under the Inland Revenue Act, the IRD said.
