Marking the beginning of the historic Esala Perahara festival in Kandy, the cup planting of four temples has been done in the early hours of today (29).
At dawn yesterday, the procession carrying the kapa from the Aluthnuwara Sri Dedimunda Temple had started.
This year, the first Kumbal Perahara of the Esala Perahara Festival will begin on August 2nd, the Randoli Perahara will begin on August 7th, and the final Randoli Maha Perahara will be held on August 11th.
